A Hubbard, Oregon man was cited for careless driving when his vehicle slid out of control on icy roads, triggering a four-car collision and blocking all four lanes of Highway 126 west of Prineville Wednesday evening, police said.

Forest Supervisor Leslie Weldon has selected the intended site for construction of the Supervisor’s Office (SO) and Bend-Fort Rock (BFR) Ranger District office of the Deschutes National Forest. Pending appropriate environmental analysis, the selected site will be the Bend-Pine Work Center at the corner of Deschutes Market and Butler Market Roads in Bend, formerly the Pine Nursery.

Salem Police have released video of an armed robbery that took place Jan. 5 at the Plaid Pantry in northeast Salem, in hopes that someone will recognize the robber whom they believe held up two convenience stores within hours of each other. In both cases, the suspect matched the same description and was carrying a rifle.
