Deschutes County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue (SAR) had a busy afternoon on Sunday when they responded to two calls within a brief period of time, both in the Mt. Bachelor ski area. A Bend driver reportedly speeding on the snowy, icy and slick road conditions of Century Drive hit an SUV as it was making a left turn Sunday afternoon, resulting in injuries that sent two people to the hospital and causing significant damage to both vehicles, deputies reported. A man who robbed the Black Bear Diner in northeast Bend Friday night may have fled the area in a waiting vehicle, police said after a search by officers, a police dog, deputies, State troopers, and a U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement officer failed to turn up any sign of the suspect. Salem - A routine traffic stop Saturday afternoon led Oregon State Police (OSP) to a massive cocaine bust worth over half a million dollars, troopers reported. An OSP trooper stopped a 2005 Nissan Armada SUV with out-of-state license plates about 12:20 p.m., January 19, when he observed the driver, a 26-year old man, speeding and making illegal lane changes. Portland - Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue (TVF&R) fire investigators say an unattended candle was the most likely cause of a Saturday afternoon fire that damaged a West Linn home.
