A Prineville driver and her passenger avoided injury when her car crashed into a fence after losing control on the gravel shoulder of Highway 27 Monday afternoon, Crook County Sheriff’s deputies reported. A joint investigation by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon Department of Justice culminated in the arrest of a 29-year old Redmond man Monday afternoon, now charged with 30 counts of encouraging child sex abuse, detectives reported.   Randy K. Oregon State Police troopers, Deschutes County Sheriff's deputies and Bend Police officers teamed up to capture two Portland residents Saturday night after a 30-mile chase at speeds nearing 100 miles per hour.  The two suspects were apprehended after fleeing their disabled vehicle about five miles east of Bend, authorities reported. Redmond Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who alleged assaulted and tried to pull a woman into his car early Sunday morning. A 52-year old snowmobile rider was seriously injured Sunday afternoon when he was thrown from his sled after striking a downed tree west of Bend, deputies reported.
