A distraught 41-year old Springfield, Oregon woman wearing only a coat, shorts and slippers during a snowstorm was convinced not to jump from a 60-foot overpass above Interstate-5 Tuesday morning by an Oregon State Police (OSP) lieutenant. Lottery funds will provide economic benefits and improve water quality while bringing salmon and steelhead to their home waters. Two people were seriously injured and four others suffered less severe injuries in a rollover crash Tuesday afternoon on icy Highway 20E about 35 miles southeast of Bend, Oregon, deputies reported. TAMPA, Fla. - A Florida man has been charged with abusing his six children and five dogs, all of them found in a dilapidated house in Tampa.The children, who ranged in age from 5 to 13, were dressed in dirty clothes and had not been going to school, the Tampa Tribune reported. VICTORIA, British Columbia - A former bank robber who became an author and then fell back into crime has been granted day parole in Canada.Stephen Reid was eligible for the privilege three years ago, after serving one-third of his 18-year sentence, CTV reported.
