Icy road conditions may have contributed to the cause of a single vehicle crash that sent the sole occupant to the hospital with undisclosed injuries, said Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies. A Madras woman who lost control while riding a 4-wheel all terrain vehicle (ATV) in rugged terrain west of Cline Butte Sunday afternoon was injured when she fell off the vehicle and it rolled over her legs, said Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies. A Bend-area man died and another was critically injured Friday night in a single vehicle crash on Highway 22-East near Gates, about 100 miles northwest of Bend. The driver lost control of his pickup on black ice, spun around, left the highway and struck a tree, said Oregon State Police.
