Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a clean-cut young man who allegedly assaulted an Alfalfa woman during a robbery attempt, striking her in the head with a weapon and leaving her on the floor of her shop/garage with serious injuries.  The assailant is believed to have stolen the victim’s vehicle to flee the scene, said authorities. Oregon State Police announced that all lanes of Highway 97 north of Chiloquin near milepost 232 are closed following a non-injury crash involving an overturned tanker that occurred about 2:30 p.m. this afternoon. Oregon State Police (OSP) and Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) personnel are on scene. According to the OSP emergency report, it is unknown how long the highway will remain closed. A Bend man was fatally injured Wednesday morning when he lost control of his pickup on an icy street corner in the Old Mill District and hit a curb.  Police say he got out of his vehicle, and was struck by another pickup that also slid on the same icy area. Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is selling the first of seven custom-made boats this week on eBay, an online auction and shopping website. The minimum bid is $20,000.
