NEW YORK -- Charles Carneglia, an enforcer for the Gambino crime family, was convicted Tuesday in New York of four murders committed years ago.
The jury, after a trial in federal court in Brooklyn, acquitted Carneglia of one killing, the New York Daily News reported. Court Officer Albert Gelb was killed in 1976, allegedly because he was about to testify against Carneglia.

BROADVIEW PARK, Fla. -- Dog owners in a South Florida park say they are on alert for stragglers from a bee hive responsible for the stinging deaths of two canines last week.
The hive was removed from a home in Broadview Park, Fla., after two dogs were died but residents of the neighborhood remained watchful in case any of the insects were still buzzing around.

WASHINGTON -- Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams Tuesday warned the renewed presence of British Special Forces in Northern Ireland would escalate recent violence.
The use of Special Forces to track down dissident IRA killers would undermine the fragile peace process, Adams said, referring to last week's killings of two British soldiers and a police officer in Northern Ireland.

WASHINGTON -- Two U.S. federal agencies will work together to regulate offshore renewable energy sources, leaders of the two bureaus said Tuesday.
