New results from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory have made a major advance in explaining how a special class of black holes may shut off the high-speed jets they produce. New Calibration Expands Hubble's Capability A scientist at Rochester Institute of Technology has expanded the Hubble Space Telescope's capability without the need for new instruments or billions of dollars. Dan Batcheldor and his team improved the calibration of Hubble's Near-Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer to enable high-precision polarimetry. NEW YORK -- A teenager reportedly confessed Wednesday to stabbing New York City newsman George Weber to death in what was described as a sexual encounter gone bad. CAPE MAY, N.J. -- The U.S. Coast Guard said its boats and aircraft were still searching Wednesday for possible survivors from a fishing boat that sank off New Jersey.
