HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Hillsboro Police Detectives are looking for Juanita Rosales-Garcia, a 40-year old female missing from Hillsboro. She is not believed to be endangered, but did leave her residence abruptly and has not been heard from since.

New results from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory have made a major advance in explaining how a special class of black holes may shut off the high-speed jets they produce. These results suggest that these black holes have a mechanism for regulating the rate at which they grow.

New Calibration Expands Hubble's Capability
A scientist at Rochester Institute of Technology has expanded the Hubble Space Telescope's capability without the need for new instruments or billions of dollars.
Dan Batcheldor and his team improved the calibration of Hubble's Near-Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer to enable high-precision polarimetry. Scientists like Batcheldor use this observational technique to read scattered light when investigating active galactic nuclei and for identifying proto-planets around very young stars.

SALEM, Ore. – Today Governor Ted Kulongoski signed Executive Order 09-07, creating the Oregon Commission on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). NEW YORK -- A teenager reportedly confessed Wednesday to stabbing New York City newsman George Weber to death in what was described as a sexual encounter gone bad.
The New York Post said a 16-year-old boy from Queens was apprehended in Middletown, N.Y., and allegedly confessed to the slaying of George Weber, a 47-year-old radio reporter for ABC News.
