The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office has positively identified the body found Thursday afternoon in the North Umpqua River as Jeffrey Schmidt, a 22-year old Oregon State University student from Medford who has been missing since a traffic crash in that area on November 19th. Three men were arrested following a raid at a northeast Salem home Friday when police seized 12 pounds of marijuana, a small quantity of meth, six firearms, and over $500 cash. A La Pine-area man died Sunday afternoon when he collided with a semi-truck after attempting to pass another commercial vehicle in a “no passing” zone on Highway 26 about 25 miles east of Government Camp on the Warm Springs Reservation, Oregon State Police (OSP) reported.
