Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office are asking the public’s help in locating an 18-year-old suspect they have identified in a December 2006 murder that occurred on Dunsmere St. SE near Macleay Road SE, south of Salem, Oregon. A woodstove ignited a blaze in a Plainview-area home last night, about ten miles north of Bend off Highway 20, completely destroying the structure and contents, Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies reported. Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters with the Cloverdale Rural Fire Protection district responded to 17835 Plainview Road about 9:49 p.m., sheriff’s Sgt. A Bend bicyclist not wearing a helmet was seriously injured late yesterday afternoon when he ran a stop sign east of town and was hit by a car, police reported. Duane Rauphs, 40, suffered a head injury and was transported to the critical care unit of St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, Sgt.
