Police have arrested the man they suspect in the vicious attempted axe murder of a Clackamas man last Wednesday. ORLANDO, Fla. - A New England couple escaped serious injury after reportedly being kidnapped, beaten and robbed by gunmen who grabbed them in a parking lot near Disney World. Deputies believe that speeding may have contributed to the deaths of three people involved in a single-vehicle crash in Sandy, Oregon early Saturday morning.  According to a news release issued by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, the resident of 45904 SE Marmont Road was awaked shortly before 2:30 a.m., June 9, when he thought his barn was on fire. A 66-year old bicyclist was hit and killed by a vehicle that struck one of five riders in Washington County, Oregon on Saturday afternoon, deputies reported.  The driver was cited for careless driving, passing in a “no passing” zone, and driving with a suspended license. Oregon State Police detectives are continuing the investigation into the death of an Oregon State University faculty member who became ill while inside her vehicle on the campus Sunday afternoon and later died at a Corvallis hospital. State, county and local emergency responders in Oregon and Idaho were busy this weekend investigating several motorcycle-involved crashes, some serious, on area highways during the Hells Canyon Motorcycle Rally based in Baker City, Oregon.
