Police have arrested the man they suspect in the vicious attempted axe murder of a Clackamas man last Wednesday. TEHRAN - A former Iranian defense minister said Monday that if the United States attacks any of Iran's nuclear facilities, the nearby Persian Gulf states would suffer. Former Defense Minister Adm. Clackamas County Sheriff’s deputies raided a Colton, Oregon home on Friday and arrested a woman accused of seriously neglecting her four horses, one of which has died. According to a news release, April Punley had been investigated four previous times by the sheriff’s office for possible animal neglect.   April Punley (inset) is accused of animal abuse for allegedly allowing her horses to become seriously emaciated and go untreated for ailments. TRIPOLI, Lebanon - A pair of Red Cross workers was killed in northern Lebanon Monday as they left a Palestinian refugee camp with several Muslim clerics, officials said. The BBC said unconfirmed reports said the Lebanese workers were fatally shot by unknown assailants while escorting the clerics from the Nahr al-Bared camp. LAGOS, Nigeria - An Eleme Petrochemical Company spokesman said Monday that 120 of the company's employees have returned to their native India after a pair of recent kidnappings. NAIROBI, Kenya - Kenyan authorities are investigating the cause of an explosion Monday in downtown Nairobi that killed at least one person and injured dozens of others. KABUL, Afghanistan - Afghan police and government officials say a high-tech bomb similar to those used by Iraqi militant groups has been found in Kabul. MOSUL, Iraq - Police in Mosul, Iraq, said five people were killed in militant attacks in the city one day after a car bomb destroyed a bridge south of Baghdad.
