My husband and I are as guilty as probably the rest of you. In the past, when a notary has shoved papers across our dining room ... [full story]

When you get an invitation to a summer wedding, the heat is on. The burning question? What am I going to wear? (No, not "do I really have to go to this?" Of course you do!) Chris Basserman’s letter to the editor (June 22 issue) complaining about trailer park residents being compensated when they’re evicted made me mad enough to respond. Basserman thinks that because he wasn’t paid when his apartment building was torn down to make way for condos, that displaced trailer park residents should be treated bad. The hybridization of a gasoline engine is a wonderful thing. Especially when it's pushing more than 300 horsepower in a sport sedan built to take it. Hybrids, combining an electric motor and battery pack with a gasoline engine, are heralded for their fuel economy and substantial reduction in tailpipe emissions.   Lexus GS 450h Sedan But the system also brings a stunning boost in horsepower when applied to larger engines, such as that in the Lexus GS 450h ... The answer is the Metolius River. The natural beauty and the geologic history keep drawing me back to the Metolius.
