Deputies are asking the public’s assistance in identifying the body of a man found floating in the lagoon along the Clackamas River at the rear of the Oregon City Shopping Center in Oregon City earlier today. Marion County Search and Rescue teams continue their search for a 21-year old McMinnville woman who didn’t return from a planned day hike in the Ollalie Lake Scenic Area. According to a news release from the county sheriff’s office, the missing woman, an employee of the Ollalie Lake Resort north of the Jefferson Wilderness area, left for a hike about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning wearing clothing only appropriate for a day excursion.  She had no ... A good Samaritan passing by a southeast Bend home Monday night noticed flames and smoke, called 911 and notified the homeowner that his deck was on fire, allowing all the residents to escape safely.  Fire inspectors believe that a hot tub on the home’s upper level deck sparked the blaze that caused an estimated $35,000 damage. According to the Central Oregon Interagency Dispatch Center, firefighters continue to make progress in containment of several fires throughout the region. Although firefighters continue to deal with extreme terrain and flashy fuels, the Fossil Creek Fire on Highway 19 southeast of Spray (Incidents 496 & 513) grew only slightly Wednesday and is currently 2,985 acres and 25% contained. Two pilots walked away unscathed after a helicopter crash at the Bend Municipal Airport Tuesday afternoon when they crashed during emergency landing exercises, authorities reported. WARSAW, Poland -- Poland's prime minister said political disagreements between the parties in his ruling coalition may lead to early elections, Polish radio reported Wednesday.
