VALDEZ, Alaska -- As much as 12,000 gallons of diesel fuel leaked into the waters off the coast of Alaska after a fishing boat ran aground last weekend. The Anchorage (Alaska) Daily News said Monday that when the Nordic Viking ran aground last weekend near Valdez, one of the vessel's storage tanks burst and leaked fuel into the surrounding water supply. CHICAGO -- The body of Deena David, a mother of two missing since last week, was found inside a closet at the Chicago home of one of her relatives. While a Cook County, Ill., medical examiner has yet to positively identify the body, relatives of David confirmed that the 35-year-old's body was found last weekend stuffed in a large plastic bag in a relative's closet, the Chicago Tribune said Monday. NEWARK, N.J. -- Former Newark, N.J., Mayor Sharpe James pleaded innocent to federal corruption charges. Both James and his alleged partner Tamika Riley put in pleas of innocent Monday, New York's WABC-TV reported. James, 71, was charged with using city-issued credit cards to pay for some $58,000 worth of personal trips, which Riley reportedly accompanied him on and expenses, the television station said. NEWARK, N.J. -- The FBI says it believes it has the notorious Hat Bandit in custody, ending a string of around 17 bank robberies in New Jersey. DEERFIELD, Fla. -- A scuba diver near Deerfield Beach, Fla., was killed in what investigators said appears to be a lightning strike on the diver's air tank. Stephen Wilson, 36, of Deerfield Beach, was pulled from the water after being struck by lighting about 30-feet away from the boat he was returning to, Miami's WPLG-TV reported Monday. DAYTON, Ohio -- Three high school seniors in Dayton, Ohio, may face charges for allegedly using a paintball gun to kill two baby skunks in a State Park. WICHITA, Kan. -- AirTran Airlines is trying to contact some passengers of two U.S. flights to warn them they may be at risk for meningitis. ATLANTA -- An apparent murder-suicide in Atlanta left four people dead and two others, including a 3-year-old child, severely wounded Monday. AUSTIN, Texas -- A woman has been arrested for allegedly putting mothballs in the soup at a Texas supermarket. Lee Suzan Sechler, 44, allegedly was caught by surveillance cameras acting suspiciously near the soup cart at a Randalls supermarket in Austin, Texas, the Austin American-Statesman reported.
