Acting on a tip, Deschutes County Sheriff’s detectives found the ATM machine stolen from the Thriftway Market in Terrebonne early Monday morning. The machine, located on public land in Jefferson County about ten miles from the market, was burned and all the cash had been removed. The burglary suspect captured on surveillance footage remains at large.

Just one day after being sentenced to over two years in state prison, a 44-year old county jail inmate was rushed to the hospital last week when he was found by jail personnel “in need of immediate medical attention,” the sheriff reported Thursday.

WASHINGTON -- A U.S. Justice Department study has found that nearly half of the country's murder victims each year are African American. The Bureau of Justice Statistics analyzed FBI homicide reports and the National Crime Victimization Survey to conclude that blacks are disproportionately victimized by violent crime, The Washington Post reported Friday. KENNER, La. -- Police in Kenner, La., have identified the graffiti artist killed by a police car on the West Return Canal levee as a 16-year-old boy from the West Bank. TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. -- After an alligator killed a golden retriever in Temple Terrace, Fla., the town has declared war against the scaly reptiles.
