A 21-year old Bend woman was killed late Monday afternoon when she over corrected after her car left the roadway on 27th Street near Knott Landfill, crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic, and crashed into an SUV head-on. Authorities have determined what was thought to be pipe bombs found near a Bend church were actually crudely constructed, low-grade homemade fireworks-type devices made from plastic pipe and tape. According to Sgt. A 51-year old La Pine man apparently died from an unknown medical condition when he was delivering construction supplies on Highway 372 (Cascade Lakes Highway) near Elk Lake at milepost 33. According to Sgt.
