Cougars have been sighted three times in the Dry Canyon area of Redmond over the last three weeks, authorities said, prompting safety reminders for residents who live in or near “cougar country”. An investigation into the death of a 44-year old Prineville woman is being conducted by the Prineville Police Department and Crook County District Attorney, authorities reported. Police responded to 3212 NE Yellowpine Road shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 22,  where the body of Gerie Lyn Dixon was found.  Dixon, a resident of 603 NE Garner Street in Prineville, had no apparent signs of trauma, Chief Eric Bush said.  The cause of death remains under ...
