PV Powered Introduces Next-Generation StarInverter Product Line
by Bend Weekly News Sources

New Inverters Developed to Address Consumer Demand for Greater Solar Harvest, Expanded Operating Voltage and Increased Reliability

PV Powered, which designs, manufactures and markets utility interactive photovoltaic inverters for the solar energy marketplace, recently announced three new single-phase residential inverters based on the second-generation StarInverter PVP5200 architecture. The PVP2500, PVP3500 and PVP4800 are new additions to the StarInverter lineup, featuring an expanded DC voltage operating range and leveraging the PVP5200 platform’s field-proven reliability and industry leading efficiency.

“Our second generation design architecture, introduced in the PVP5200, has been deployed in the field for more than a year with only a one percent failure rate,” said Bill Taylor, PV Powered founder and president. “PV Powered continues to lead the industry in power class efficiency and, with an expanded DC voltage operating range, our new residential inverters provide installers with increased flexibility for today’s growing range of low-voltage modules. With an input voltage as low as 140 volts, the expandability of our PVP2500 makes it the ideal entry-level inverter for residential applications.”

PV Powered manufactures high-efficiency inverters for collecting and harvesting solar energy into usable electricity for homes, offices and commercial buildings. Their products are designed and manufactured in the United States, specifically to meet the higher irradiance levels and hot climates found in the U.S. marketplace. PV Powered’s products are engineered to operate at higher temperatures without any thermal fold back.

The innovative PV Powered design architecture has produced inverters with the lowest parts count, no fan requirement and a simple design for easy installation and field service. “We designed a family of products to address the needs of our installers and the demands of their customers,” Taylor said. “With our comprehensive industry leading 10-year warranty and best-in-power-class efficiency ratings, we believe the PV Powered StarInverter line delivers the lowest total cost of ownership for residential solar power applications.”
