Bend Businesses Must Register with City by End of December
by Bend Weekly News Sources
The City of Bend officially established a business license ordinance on January 18, 2006. As of February 17, 2006 all businesses operating in the City of Bend were required to possess a business license. Businesses should be registered for the license by the end of 2006. A $500 fine will be issued for those who fail to register for a Bend business license after an 18-month grace period.
Obtaining a License:
Businesses can submit applications in person at City Hall or mail them in. To download an application, go to “Business License” at www.ci.bend.or.us. However, the city does not accept electronic form submissions at this time. The business license form must be filled out, signed, and sent via regular mail or brought to the address listed on the application. Please do not send cash. Checks or money orders should be made payable to the "City of Bend." The approval process should take between two weeks and 30 days, depending upon the type of business.
Licenses expire one year from the month activated and are not pro-rated. Renewal notices will be mailed to businesses annually.
