Sunriver Resort Adds Three To Personnel Team

New director of engineering, executive sous chef, marketing assistant join property
Sunriver Resort, an AAA Four-Diamond award winning property, has announced three new hirings:
* Director of Engineering. Craig Peterson, who previously spent nine years with Xanterra Parks & Resorts, the largest holder of concessions contracts for the National Park Service in the country, is the new director of engineering. He worked in Death Valley National Park as chief engineer for Furnace Creek Inn & Ranch Resort for four years, where he received the Department of Interiors' Environmental Award for his efforts in recycling more than 500,000 pounds a year in cooperation with the National Park Service. When, in 2002, Xanterra acquired the contract for Crater Lake National Park, Peterson was named facility engineer and environmental risk manager there.

* Executive Sous Chef. Joseph Lee, with more than 14 years of culinary experience, is the new executive sous chef. He is second in command overseeing Meadows At The Lodge, McDivot's at the Woodlands, Merchant Trader Café, The Grille at Crosswater, the Owl's Nest, as well as special events and in-room dining. Lee's previous resort experience includes high-level positions at The Timbers in Denver; Broadmoor, a five-star and five-diamond resort in Colorado Springs, Colo.; Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton, Fla.; and The Greenwood Inn in nearby Portland, Oregon Lee studied hotel/restaurant management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and culinary arts at the Western Culinary Institute in Portland.

* Marketing & Administrative Assistant. Lauren Lewis, a native of Bend and a recent graduate from Gonzaga University, is the new marketing and administrative assistant. While attending college, Lewis interned in the marketing/public relations departments at Sacred Heart Children's Hospital and the American Red Cross, both in Spokane, Wash. Previously, she was the seasonal special events coordinator at the Les Schwab Amphitheater in Bend. Lewis will take an active role in the property's marketing department as well as supporting Brian Hughes, Sunriver Resort's general manager.
