Driver found, no charges pending in alleged ‘hit-and-run’
by Cheryl McDermott

Redmond Police have determined that no crime was committed in the previously alleged hit-and-run Thursday afternoon where a boy was reported to have been struck as he was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk.  No charges will be filed.

The driver police were seeking voluntarily turned herself in for questioning at the police station Friday after she heard a description of herself and her vehicle on the radio, Captain Brian MacNaughton said.

The boy’s mother reported that a vehicle turning onto SW Rimrock Way from SW Highland Avenue hit her son as he was crossing in a marked crosswalk about 5:30 p.m., November 29, causing a minor injury to his knee that didn’t require immediate medical attention, Redmond Police Officer Keith Knight reported in a news release.
