A Washington man on his way to California was arrested in Redmond, Oregon Wednesday after his car was stopped for several traffic violations and police found evidence of drug activity and several thousands of dollars in cash.
Deschutes County deputies said the black 1995 Honda two-door passenger car driven by Jessy Mendoza, 23, of Sheridan, Washington, was pulled over near the intersection of Highway 97 and Maple Avenue for traffic infractions about 3:20 p.m., December 19. When deputies observed several “indicators of criminal activity”, they asked for and received consent to search the vehicle, a news release stated.

Mendoza was taken into custody and lodged in the Deschutes County Jail where he is charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of a forged instrument.
