Three people escaped a two-vehicle crash involving an armored truck and an SUV on Highway 26 west of Government Camp with only minor injuries Friday afternoon, and a fourth was unharmed, police reported.
Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers report that Jerry Allen Cobb, 24, of Beaverton was traveling west on Highway 26 near milepost 51 shortly after 3 p.m. when he lost control of the armored transport vehicle. The AT Systems Northwest truck was rounding a left curve when it crossed the oncoming lanes, struck a guardrail, then crashed into an SUV.

Cobb was transported by ambulance to Portland Adventist Hospital with reportedly minor injuries, and his passenger, Eric L. Smallwood, a 30-year old Clackamas resident, was unharmed, OSP reported.
The two occupants of the SUV, a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer, were identified as 52-year old Kathleen Avis, the driver, and her husband William, 61, both of West Linn. The Avis’ were wearing seatbelts and received minor injuries, troopers said, but declined transport for treatment.
The incident remains under investigation.
