Redmond driver cited in two-vehicle rollover crash
by Cheryl McDermott

REDMOND, Ore. – An 18-year-old driver was cited for failing to obey a stop sign and careless driving in connection with a two-vehicle rollover crash that injured the other driver and his passenger in Redmond, Oregon on Tuesday afternoon, deputies reported.
Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies assisted by Redmond Police officers investigated the crash about 2:30 p.m., April 1, at the intersection of Antler Street and 8th Street, Sheriff’s Sgt. Vance Lawrence said.
Preliminary investigation determined that Tyler Rucinsky, 18, of Redmond, was traveling west on Antler Street and allegedly failed to stop his 1998 Ford Explorer at the intersection’s stop sign, striking a vehicle southbound on 8th Street, a news release stated.
The other vehicle, a 1999 Dodge Durango occupied by Redmond resident Allen Speck and his five-year-old son, was hit behind the driver’s door and rolled once before landing upright, Lawrence said.
Rucinsky was uninjured, Allen Speck sustained non-life threatening injuries, and the child received “apparently” minor injuries, the sergeant reported.
Deputies said both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene.
“Alcohol was not a factor in this crash,” Sgt. Lawrence said, but Rucinsky was cited for failing to obey a traffic control device and careless driving.
