REDMOND, Ore. – Three boys were injured last Friday when their speeding pickup slid off a dirt road near Redmond, Oregon, then skidded almost 140 feet before rolling over at least 1 1/2 times before landing upside down, deputies reported recently.
According to a news release prepared by Crook County Sheriff’s Deputy Bill Elliott and Sergeant Travis Jurgens, the boys were driving east on Remington Road Ranch in a 1990 Ford F150 pickup when the crash occurred about 4:45 p.m., May 2.
After the crash, the boys walked to a nearby home for help. One of the boys was transported to St. Charles Medical Center in Redmond by ambulance, and the other two were taken by personal vehicle.
“All three were treated for their injuries and released,” the sergeant said.
While the case remains under investigation, alcohol was not involved, the news release stated.
