REDMOND, Ore. -- An investigation is continuing and the identity of a man who died from a gunshot wound Sunday afternoon during an apparent domestic dispute in Deschutes County northwest of Redmond is being withheld pending family notification, the sheriff’s office reported today.
According to Deschutes County Sheriff’s Lt. Shane Nelson, 911 Dispatch received a report of the dispute at an address in the 69000 block of Buckhorn Road about 12:45 p.m., March 8, and upon arrival found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
Redmond Fire medics and an AirLink helicopter were initially dispatched but the man died on scene, the news release stated.
“All parties involved were known to each other and there is no suspect outstanding,” the lieutenant said. “There is no danger to citizens of Deschutes County as there is no suspect at large,” he continued.
Nelson declined to provide further details due to the ongoing investigation and need to inform family members, but said information will be released as it becomes available.
