June Antonia Hernandez, 40, of 380 Meadowlark Lane in Madras, was stopped by a Prineville police officer about 12:30 p.m. February 4, said Police Chief Eric Bush.
Officers found through a records check that Hernandez’ drivers license was suspended, and her vehicle was impounded.
Nearly ten grams of a substance believed to be meth, digital scales, drug paraphernalia, and $100 cash were found and seized during a vehicle search.
Hernandez was taken into custody and lodged in the Crook County Jail with bail set at $85,000, said the chief. She is charged with possession, manufacture and delivery of a controlled Substance, first-degree child neglect, and endangering the welfare of a minor.
The child neglect and endangering charges stem from the presence of a passenger in Hernandez’ vehicle, an 11-year-old boy from Culver, Oregon. The child was turned over to a state child welfare worker, said Bush.
