A 26-year old Sisters man was arrested for drunk driving early Friday morning after his vehicle crossed over the centerline while rounding a curve and crashed into an oncoming pickup, deputies reported.
Neither driver was hurt in the collision that happened shortly before 1 a.m. west of Camp Polk Road on Highway 126 in Sisters, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Sgt. Vance Lawrence said.
Preliminary investigation determined that Jason Johnson, 27, was traveling east on Highway 126 in a 1993 Saturn four-door passenger car, and 20-year old Sisters’ resident Cody Herburger was westbound on the same highway, driving a full-sized 2001 Dodge pickup.

As both vehicles met on a curve, Johnson’s car crossed the centerline and collided with the pickup, striking it behind the driver’s door near the left rear tire, said Lawrence. Johnson’s vehicle left the roadway after impact and landed on its roof, while the pickup came to rest partially blocking the eastbound lane.
Johnson was taken into custody and lodged in the Deschutes County Jail, the sergeant said, and is charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants.
