Central Oregon snow advisory: 3-5 inches possible
by Bend Weekly News Sources

Yes, it’s true.  Despite the sunshine and mild-to-cool temperatures outside your Central Oregon window today, by Thursday morning you may find yourself shoveling your driveway clear of 3-5 inches of snow.

A storm front expected to hit Central Oregon Wednesday morning may result in snow accumulations up to 5-inches by Thursday morning.
The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a snow advisory for Central Oregon including Bend, La Pine, Prineville, and Redmond, with snow accumulations from 3-5 inches possible at elevations above 4,000 feet.  The advisory will be in effect from 6 a.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday.

Rain and snow is expected to move into Central Oregon Wednesday morning, with initial snow levels around 3,000 feet, rising to 4-5,000 feet in the afternoon.  Wednesday night, snow levels may drop back to 3-5,000 feet.

By Thursday morning, snow accumulations at 4,000 feet and above may reach 3-5 inches, and 1-3 inches below 4,000 feet.

The National Weather Service issues a snow advisory when snow is occurring, or is expected to develop and accumulate.  Travel may be hazardous, especially on bridges, overpasses, and secondary roads.  Motorists are urged to use extreme caution, and are advised to slow down to adjust for rapidly changing driving conditions and reduced visibilities.
