A 29-year old Sisters woman was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving and assault following an early morning accident in southwest Redmond when she rolled her pickup and crashed, deputies reported.
According to Deschutes County Sheriff’s Sergeant Chad Davis, deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 126 at SW Helmholtz Way in Redmond about 12:15 a.m., July 10 to a reported motor vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, they found the driver, Shasta Lee Obersinner, and passenger Gary Rainwater, 38, both of Sisters, trapped inside the 1985 Ford Ranger pickup that had rolled over during the accident.
Redmond Fire & Rescue personnel extricated the occupants from the pickup, and both were transported to St. Charles Medical Center in Redmond where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
Following preliminary investigation, Obersinner was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants and third-degree assault, the sergeant said. She was later lodged in the Deschutes County Jail. Blood alcohol test results were not immediately available.
