Charges possible against men who found body near Redmond
by Cheryl McDermott

The medical examiner has determined that the Redmond man whose body was found on Bureau of Land Management property east of Redmond on Saturday did indeed die of natural causes as they had suspected, but theft and drug-related charges may be filed against the two men who discovered the dead man inside his vehicle.

Vincent Daniel Martin, 30, and Daniel Lee Rowland, 36, found the body of 54-year old Dale Gordon Ishaug inside his vehicle early Saturday morning, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Lt. Kevin Dizney said.

According to a news release, deputies believe that Martin, who lives in a tent near where the body was found, and Rowland, who resides at 839 NE Crow Court in Redmond, both entered the vehicle and removed a checkbook and a small amount of cash.

Search warrants were obtained and executed at the tent and the Crow Court residence, Dizney said.  A  marijuana plant and packaged marijuana were located at Rowland’s home.

No arrests have been made pending further investigation and review by the district attorney’s office, the lieutenant said.  Possible charges may include unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and theft, and Rowland may also face charges of possession and manufacture of controlled substances.
