Lengthy investigation leads to arrest of major drug suppliers
by Cheryl McDemott

A lengthy investigation into illegal drug trafficking targeted for Central Oregon culminated Thursday night in the arrest of a Beaverton man and a 23-year old woman, a former Bend resident.  Cocaine and marijuana were found in the woman’s vehicle and seized, drug agents reported.

Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE) team detectives had been investigating the possible involvement of Hossein Talebi, 28, in supplying drugs to Central Oregon, Oregon State Police (OSP) Sgt. Mitchell Meyer said. He had long been suspected as being a “major supplier” of controlled substances.

The investigation led detectives to the Portland area, Meyer said, where Talebi was apprehended in a Clackamas motel lobby during a surveillance operation by CODE, the Regional Organized Crime Narcotics Team and a Portland-area drug unit about 9:30 p.m., January 24.

Talebi’s associate, 23-year old former Bend resident Anna Katherine Hoesly, was waiting for Talebi in a nearby parking lot.

Detectives discovered about two pounds of marijuana and five ounces of cocaine in Hoesly’s car, drugs that would be worth near $20,000 on the street, the sergeant said.

Both suspects were taken into custody, transported to Bend, and lodged in the Deschutes County Jail. Talebi and Hoesly have each been charged with delivery of cocaine, conspiracy to deliver Schedule II controlled substances, delivery of marijuana for consideration, and conspiracy to deliver marijuana for consideration.
