Few details were disclosed regarding an Ashland man’s fall from the roof of an outlet mall in Bend, Oregon during the wee hours Wednesday morning, but police said after he was transported to the hospital for treatment, he was issued a citation for trespassing.

Under what seems to be suspicious circumstances, Bend Police and fire paramedics responded to the Factory Outlet Mall at 61334 S. Highway 97 about 2:40 a.m., February 27, and found Matthew Adam Grabow, 26, of Ashland, injured and lying on the asphalt parking lot behind the mall.

Grabow was transported by ambulance to St. Charles Medical Center for treatment of unknown injuries, Lt. Ken Mannix reported.

Information obtained during an investigation and examination of evidence at the scene led police to believe that Grabow had fallen onto the pavement after he climbed onto the roof. Further details, including why he may have been on the roof at 2:40 in the morning, weren’t provided.

He was issued a criminal citation for second-degree trespassing, Mannix said, and asked anyone who has information about the suspect or incident to contact police at 541-322-2960.
