Bend Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a masked man in connection with the attempted robbery of a gas station in northeast Bend Sunday night.
The lone employee of the Texaco station at 575 NE Bellevue told detectives that the would-be robber demanded money and attempted to force open the front door of the business about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, December 17.When unable to gain entry, the suspect fled the area in an easterly direction.
Bend Police and Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies searched the area thoroughly but were unable to locate the suspect, who is described as a white male in his early 20’s, 5-foot 6-inches tall with a large build.He was wearing a dark jacket, orange shorts, and a black face mask, said Lt. Ken Mannix.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to phone the Bend Police department at 541.322.2960.
If located, said the lieutenant, the suspect will likely face charges of third-degree attempted robbery.
