A Bend man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after allegedly threatening the life of a Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputy who had earlier issued him a traffic citation, authorities reported.

Ian Douglas McVey, 25, was taken into custody without incident about 3 p.m. February 27, Lt. Myrna Homan said. When he was apprehended, he had a loaded firearm concealed under the seat of his vehicle.
McVey allegedly made threats against the lives of the unidentified deputy, a Sheriff’s Office supervisor, and employees at a local business, Homan reported. He is lodged in the Deschutes County Jail in lieu of $7,500 bail, and is charged with disorderly conduct, menacing, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
The lieutenant declined to provide any further details due to the ongoing investigation.
