Traffic is being rerouted as crews work on broken water main at intersection of Burnside Ave. and Third Street; closures may last six hours
A water main break has occurred at the intersection of Burnside and Third Street in Bend, city officials have announced.
Police personnel are rerouting traffic in the area and Public Works crews are currently on scene, said Andrea McCullough, communications manager for the City of Bend. Crews have managed to shut off about 90 percent of the flow from the broken water main, and water is being pumped from the underpass at the affected intersection.
Several businesses will be without water for the next several hours while repairs are made, McCullough said. Water pressure has dropped in southeast Bend due to the break, and crews expect to be working in the area for the next six hours, until about 8:30 p.m.
