The Bend City Council announced today the unanimous appointment of Peter Gramlich to fill the vacancy left by John Hummel, who resigned last month
Thirteen interested parties applied for the vacant position by the set deadline of March 21, and council members on Tuesday of last week narrowed the list to six candidates.
Those six were interviewed prior to the council’s vote today.
Gramlich will serve until December 31, 2008, and will be sworn into office at the next council meeting to be held in council chambers of City Hall on Wednesday, April 4.
The newly appointed council member is an architectural designer and the owner of a local design and planning agency, Gramlich Design & Planning. He presently serves on the City of Bend Planning Commission.
