Chief Andy Jordan of the Bend Police Department recently announced the acquisition of a 2006 Polaris Ranger 6x6 vehicle.
A grant application by Bend Police and the Central Oregon Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) was one of over 3,500 submitted nationwide. Sixty vehicles were available through the grant program made possible by the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company of Greenwich, Connecticut.
“The vehicle may be used for a variety of circumstances, including swat operations and public events,” said Chief Jordan.
