Marcum Arrested for Unlawful Use of Vehicle
by Sgt. Deron McMaster

On Jan. 12, 2006 at approximately 5:07 am deputies from the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office stopped a snowmobile on South Century Drive near Homestead Way in Lapine.  The driver of the snowmobile had a suspended license and the snowmobile was impounded by the Sheriff's Office.  It was towed by Marcum's Towing to the Marcum's Towing Facility.

On Jan. 18, 2006 Craig Marcum removed the same snowmobile from Marcum's Towing facility and drove the snowmobile on the night he became lost.  The snowmobile was still under impoundment by the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office at the time.

Marcum was arrested and charged with Unlawful Use of a Vehicle on Jan. 20, 2006 at approximately 12:00 pm.  Marcum was transported to the Deschutes County Adult Jail where he was booked and lodged.  His bail is $5,000.

  • SHAME ON YOU. THAT SNOWMOBILE DID NOT BELONG TO YOU. JUST HOW MANY OTHER VEHICLES HAVE YOU TAKEN OUT FOR A CRUISE? I HOPE THAT THE COUNTY MAKE'S YOU PAY FOR YOUR SEARCH AND RESCUE OPERATION.
