A 19-year old Bend resident died Monday afternoon when his vehicle left Highway 126E about ten miles east of McKenzie Bridge and crashed into a tree.
On April 10, 2006 at approximately 5:00 p.m., a silver 1996 Honda Civic 4 door driven by JOSH M. KEELEY, age 19, from Bend, was eastbound on Highway 126E near milepost 53 when it lost control, crossed the highway and crashed into a tree. After impact, the vehicle rolled and came to rest on its wheels.
KEELEY was using safety restraints and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Conditions at the time were rainy and the highway was wet.
Oregon State Police troopers from the Springfield Area Command are continuing the investigation. There were no witnesses to this crash and anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact Senior Trooper Ted Phillips, OSP Springfield, at (541) 726-2536.
Local emergency personnel and ODOT assisted at the scene. There was no highway blockage due to this crash.
