JACKSON, Mo. -- Police in Jackson, Mo., said a local man who allegedly shot his wife and her three children did so because of a marital dispute.
Authorities alleged that hours after Mir Shahin Moshiri's wife was granted an order of protection against him, the 36-year-old shot her and her three children before turning his gun on himself, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Wednesday.
Jackson Police Chief James M. Humphreys said that on Monday, Katherine Moshiri apparently had informed her husband of her intent to divorce him.
Humphreys alleged that when the 35-year-old attempted to leave their home with her three children, her husband brandished a handgun and shot her four times.
Despite her wounds, Katherine Moshiri managed to make it to a local police station and officers were immediately dispatched to the scene of the crime.
There the wounded woman's three children were all found shot in the head, one fatally, and her husband was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Post-Dispatch said that Katherine Moshiri, along with her 2-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son were listed in critical condition on Tuesday.
