RIVIERA, Fla. -- A Florida beach was closed for a time Friday after a container marked "explosives" washed ashore near a condo complex.
The container was marked "If found, call police" and that's just what beachcombers did when they discovered it on the shoreline in Riviera.
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel said the Palm Beach County bomb squad inspected the container to make sure it wasn't a bomb and then hauled it away.
It was not clear what the 2-foot-long container had once contained.
