DENTON, Texas - A man considered by police to be a "person of interest" in the deaths of his wife and her infant daughter was arrested Monday in Denton, Texas.
Jim Bryan, a Denton police spokesman, said Andrew Anthony Guerrero and his 3-year-old son, Seth, were found Monday morning at a Motel 6 near Interstate 35, the Dallas Morning News reported Monday.
"We knew they were possibly in the Denton area, so we were checking hotels," Bryan said.
Bryan said Guerrero did not resist arrest after he emerged from his hotel room.
"He was ordered to the ground by a tactical officer," Bryan said. "He complied with that order and was placed under arrest."
The spokesman said Seth Guerrero was in good condition and was being turned over to child protection services.
Andrew Guerrero, who was being held Monday in the Denton jail, is considered a person of interest in the deaths of his estranged wife, Nicolette Lyons-Reed, 23, and her 8-month-old daughter, Leah Lyons-Reed.
Police said Nicolette Lyons-Reed was Seth Guerrero's mother and her young daughter was fathered by another man.
