EVERETT, Wash. - Police in Everett, Wash., investigated reports that workers at the North Sound primate research lab allegedly boiled a monkey to death.
The Everett Police Department, "is looking into the issue of possible animal cruelty at SNBL," Snohomish County Prosecutor Janice Ellis said.
The police action comes after an investigation of the lab by KIRO Team 7, KIRO-TV, Seattle reported Tuesday. Undercover investigators reportedly found that a cleaning crew put a healthy monkey into a hot rack-washer and killed it.
The National Humane Society released a statement Tuesday asking for "meaningful" punishments for individuals involved in the monkey's death.
