ORLANDO, Fla. -- The safari ride at Florida's Disney World was shut down for examination Monday after fire broke out in the engine of one of the transport vehicles.
One woman complained of a knee injury after jumping off the truck when it caught fire and three other passengers asked for medical evaluation at the scene, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported Monday.
A Disney spokeswoman said the Sunday afternoon fire was triggered by the failure of a hose in the engine compartment of a truck used to shuttle passengers on the Kilimanjaro Safari.
Andrea Finger told the Sentinel that a team would inspect hoses on the all the safari trucks and the ride would reopen once that task had been completed. The newspaper said the ride was operating Monday morning.
