LAS VEGAS -- A Nevada family court judge accused of molesting his 14-year-old stepdaughter in the 1990s remains on the bench, at least temporarily.
Nicholas Del Vecchio can only be removed by the Nevada Judicial Discipline Commission, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
"We have very little authority to act," said Chuck Short, court administrator in Clark County.
Short said that if Del Vecchio's notoriety begins to cause problems in Family Court his cases could be transferred to other judges.
Del Vecchio allegedly had sex with his stepdaughter when she was 14 and took nude photos of her for the next two years. A decade later, she went to work for him as an assistant and says that he forced her into an affair and taped their encounters without telling her.
