GREEN BAY, Wis. - A 14-year-old boy in northern Wisconsin has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly trying to choke his mother to death while she slept.
Brown County Sheriff's deputies were called to the Howard, Wis., home of Wade Klipstine early Sunday morning after his grandmother reported a disturbance, The Green Bay (Wis.) Press Gazette reported Thursday.
The suspect's mother, Jessie Klipstine, said she woke up and discovered her son on top of her with his hands around her throat. Deputies said they saw marks on the mother's neck consistent with strangulation.
Police said the teen was charged as an adult after allegedly admitting to trying to choke his mother to death.
