Chef keeps cooking after bullet strikes
by UPI

NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans chef Paul Prudhomme was grazed by a bullet while cooking in a tent set up on the practice range at the Zurich Classic golf tournament.

After feeling a sting in his right arm above his elbow, Prudhomme shook his clothing and a 22-caliber bullet fell to the ground, The New Orleans Times-Picayune reported Wednesday.

A spokesman for the sheriff's office said deputies believe Prudhomme was struck by a falling bullet that had been shot from somewhere within a 1.5-mile radius of the golf course Tuesday morning.

Undeterred, the Cajun and creole chef kept on cooking for players, caddies and guests at the annual PGA Tour event that begins Thursday and runs through Sunday, the newspaper reported.

A native of Louisiana, Prudhomme is considered responsible for the Cajun cooking craze of the 1980s.
