MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee police say a 6-year-old boy was forced to sleep in a day-care van parked outdoors overnight after being forgotten by a driver.
Milwaukee police Lt. Raynard Richards said the boy, whose identity was not reported, was apparently left inside the vehicle by the unidentified driver since the child had fallen asleep in the vehicle's back seat last week, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel said Monday.
Richards said the driver never noticed the sleeping boy Friday afternoon and parked the vehicle outside the ABC Day Care Center overnight.
The person supposed to be watching the child and his two siblings, who were dropped off Friday in the same car, never noticed the child was missing until the boy's mother called Saturday.
Richards said another 6-year-old sleeping boy was left alone in a day-care van Friday in Milwaukee as well. No injuries were reported in either incident.
The second child, whose identity was also not released, was found outside the Kindergarten Plus center after a couple of hours after his family grew concerned, the Journal Sentinel reported.
A male suspect, 43, has been taken into custody in relation to the second case, police said.
