SHAKOPEE, Minn. -- A judge in Scott County, Minn., sentenced Michael Anderson to life in prison without the possibility of parole for killing a woman he found on Craigslist.
Scott County District Judge Mary Theisen told Anderson, 20, she felt he showed no remorse during his six-day trial for killing 24-year-old Minneapolis resident Katherine Olson, the Star-Tribune newspaper in Minneapolis said Thursday.
"You have shown no remorse, no empathy, and I have no sympathy for you," Theisen said Wednesday.
Anderson was convicted Tuesday of premeditated murder for killing Olson on Oct. 27, 2007, after finding her through a Craigslist posting for a babysitting job. Olson's body was found in the trunk of her own car by police.
The victim's mother, Nancy, described to Theisen a recurring dream she has had of her slain daughter, the Star-Tribune said.
"She appeared to me as a 24-year-old, naked, with a bullet hole in her back and crawled into my lap," the mother told the judge. "I cradled her for a long time trying to protect her from the cruel world."
